“A fit athlete is competent in all general physical skills, meaning that he or she not only has stamina, but is also strong, fast, agile, coordinated, and flexible. With this base, you can add in sport-specific training for anything from running a marathon to fighting in the cage.”

These wise words from a great coach are from Brian Mackenzie, the author of Power Speed ENDURANCE: A Skill-Based Approach to Endurance Training, and reflect part of our training philosophy at Waterfront. We gladly help any group of athletes hoping to improve at their desired sport but we may approach it with a little less specificity than you’d think. For example: if we work with an above-average runner wanting to improve their 10km time we may suggest strength/ mobility/ intensity work alongside of their run training. We think filling these gaps in your athleticism lead to the greatest improvement and form an unbreakable athlete.
